WHALES, WHALES, WHALES
Hi All. Just thought I would use this space to remind you all that Winter is a fantastic time along the Great Ocean Road as we will soon be greeted by families of whales making their annual visits to our beautiful coastline.
Logan's Beach in Warrnambool is where they spend the winter frolicking and playing, sometimes only 20 metres off the shore. This beach is our first stop on the tour, so this is something extra special to see, for Winter only.
Also, World Cup fever is upon us and for those worried about missing a game whilst on a tour- fear not!!!! The hostel has a big TV, so you will miss nothing of Australia winning the World Cup!!!!!!
See you Soon

GOR TURNS RUGGED....AND MORE BEAUTIFUL
As the weather turns towards Winter here on the Great Ocean Road we have been treated to some amazingly beautiful scenery over the last few weeks. Although the swimming is not as popular now (except for the Irish god bless them!!!), we can instead watch in awe as Mother Nature takes charge and creates for us some huge waves and rough seas. This to me is the Road at its most beautiful- dramatic, rugged and completely mesmerising as wave after wave batter the already weakening coastline. So I say to all, bring a warm jacket and come enjoy the Great Ocean Road as it truly is- the most rugged and beautiful coastline Australia has to offer (and I guarantee the BBQ and red wine will warm you up at the end of the day!!).
Cheers

OLDEST BACKPACKER SURVIVES RIDE!!!!!
Hey all again,

Well it has been an awesome month again as Melbourne turned on some beautiful Autumn conditions to allow us to keep swimming and keep enjoying sunsets. It has also been a memorable time for me as my Dad decided to come along for the Ride and see exactly what his son does for a living. I think my group were a little perplexed to see such an oldie initially, but soon realised that my Dad is a little different to most (in a good way) and a great trip was had by all. So to all on my trip today, I say thankyou for giving my old man a memorable holiday!!!
Until next time stay happy

WEDDINGS, PARTIES, ANYTHING
Well what can I say- the last few weeks have been an amazing ride. Having been a guide for 5 years now, I pretty much believed I had seen it all and been asked to do everything (and politely declined of course!!!). Well I was wrong!!! Last week I had my first wedding on tour where I was asked to wed the lovely Victoria to her man Vehbo. Naturally I was a little surprised, but more than happy to please my customers so we had an official wedding at Gibsons Steps, complete with exchanges of the rings and of course the bucks party the night before!!! Not quite sure whether marriage celebrant is allowed for a tour operator ,but best of luck guys- it was a great trip.
Have also had some other great trips with more fantastic people and I think we created a world record last Friday night. Whilst out with my group having a few quiet ales to celebrate a great tour, we headed out to Honkytonks and managed to get 20 people in. Now for those of you that don't know, Honkytonks is a very snobby (albeit cool) club that never, ever lets people in unless you are a member or very good looking. So I guess I can safely say that I had the best looking group of all time last week!!!
Well, I am loving this job at the moment and look forward to meeting lots more cool people in the next few weeks. So come for the Ride and see if you can make the website!!
Cheers

The Long Hot Summer
Hey all Todd here with an update. Tours have been going great with buses full and people having an awesome time. A big thankyou goes out to all that came on the bus this week (especially Fernando- long may your name continue!!!!). Whether it was chilling on the beach as Melbourne's hot, hot summer continues or sitting around the hostel having a drink after the BBQ, I have spent some quality time with some great people this week.
So if you are considering your Great Ocean Road tour remember that there is a lot more to travelling than just taking photos. Sometimes, the most fun can be had by sharing a meal or a drink with people from all walks of life- something that only an extended tour can offer. So, Ride with us- enjoy the spectacular coastline but also the craic (I am not Irish so not sure I have the right to use this word, but there is no better word in English!!!!)
Cheers
